Hello! Well summer is off with a bang! The sun is shining and the books are calling me. I have started off the summer with a Guy Gavriel Kay book titled Sailing to Sarantium. Kay is an award winning Canadian author. I really enjoy his writing. If you are looking for a mystery he has written a young adult book titled Ysabel, I really enjoyed it, I think you will too.
I will be heading west to do some camping this weekend. So I have packed several books. One of my favourite summertime activities is to sit around the campfire and read a great book. This past weekend I went up to Calgary to a book signing of one of my favourite authors. David A. Poulsen (an author from west of Claresholm) has released his newest in the Cullen and Cobb series, Dead Air, I can't wait to sit by the fire and read this book.
Mystery is one of my favourite genres. The series I first fell in love with is Nancy Drew mysteries. I love that there is just a few illustrations and they always had a caption. I loved that Nancy was so brave. Unlike me, I blame those books on my fear of the dark:0).
I would love to hear about what you are reading...drop me a note and tell me what you are reading around your campfire.
