This is a metaphor that Sir Issac Newton used to help us understand that “If I see further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” To translate, he means that he was capable of doing great work, because others came before him to help his path. They were people who discovered and shared ideas and then Newton took their understanding and built on it or made it better. He used their work to inspire him. Who inspires you? I am inspired by many different people. Dr. Jody Carrington inspires me to be a better teacher and friend, Leslie Gurr inspires me to keep working out and lifting weights, Ethan and Payton inspire me to keep an open mind and to keep learning. Who inspires you?
I read. A lot. You all know that. I have at least three books on the go at all times. Right now I am reading A Sorrowful Sanctuary, A Lane Winslow Mystery by Iona Whishaw (historical fiction and mystery), I am reading Uniquely Human by Barry M. Prizant, PHD (non-fiction) and I am listening on my phone to Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusty Bowling (realistic fiction). I have a long list of books I would like to read. Do you have a list of books you are wanting to read? I would love to hear about the books you can’t wait to read.A Bucket List is a list of what you want to accomplish before you die, or “kick the bucket.” Listen to this TedxTeen Talk about Bucket ListsWhat would you include on your Bucket List?
