This reading challenge is based on ELA outcomes for grade 4 students as prescribed by Alberta Education.
Main Goal: Form a habit of daily reading.
Other Goals: a) Increase reading time - minimum of 20 minutes each day b) Increase comprehension levels c) complete one or more chapter books d) prepare for reading through the summer
This challenge runs for 50 days - you are responsible to document your reading. Each day has a different reading challenge. You may document your comprehension in any form you choose; video, play doh representation (with explanation) and share it on our class blog page...or you may choose to fill in the Weekly Journal Log directly each day.
When you have completed a novel you get to create a book trailer for the chapter book you have completed.
The #100Places2Read Reading Challenge is a home reading challenge. The reading and reporting take place outside of regular classroom work.

On Wednesday May 28, Day 25 of the #100Places2Read Reading Challenge students who have read for 20 days will receive a reward for their commitment to become better readers.
As a grand finale and to acknowledge student commitment to become life long readers on Monday June 22 students who have read for 40 days will receive a reward for their hard work.
