The Plot is made up of the following 5 steps:
1) Exposition/Introduction: this is the beginning of the story. This is where the characters and setting are established and the conflict is introduced.
2) Rising Action: during this the author introduces a series of events that build up to the conflict. These events begin to get complicated and the story begins to be tense and exciting.
3) Climax: This is the main point of the plot, it is the turning point of the story. This is meant to be the moment of highest interest and emotion. The climax will leave the reader to wonder what is going to happen next.
4) Falling Action: this is where the story begins to wind up. The events and complications begin to be resolved. The results of the actions of the main characters are evident.
5) Resolution: this is also the conclusion. This is the end of the story where the author wraps up loose ends.
