Today in our Weekly Reading Journal we are asked to make a connection. "This book reminds me of ________ because___________." We can make a text-to-self, text-to-text, or text-to-world connection.
The connection I make with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is text-to-text. I think that Harry and Annie, from the movie Annie are very similar. She is also an orphan who is adopted by a very rich man and has all she has ever dreamed of. Although Annie's journey is not as hard as Harry's. Mrs. Watt For the next 50 days 4LWB will be participating in a reading challenge. Our hope is to become life long readers and recognize that reading can be done at anytime and anywhere!
Our job is to read for 20 minutes a day and to document about what what we have read. Mrs. Watt will also join in and is reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. We look forward to sharing what we are reading as well as learning about the #100Places2Read! |
