I love the summer break! It gives me a lot of time to relax, but more importantly, I get to READ! I just finished two books by the same author. I have read About Average, and The Report Card written by Andrew Clements. Experts recommend that you write about what you know and Clements has done just that. He has both stories taking place at school, and he is a former school teacher. I enjoyed both of these books and would highly recommend them. They will be in my classroom library and you are welcome to pop by and check them out!
About Average is about how Jordan who is not only an average student, she is an average person. When a bully targets her she comes up with a way to befriend the bully. The Report Card is a story about Nora, who is anything but average. Nora is an extremely gifted student who is fed up with labels and the way she and her classmates are grouped. She leads a movement to make changes. I found both stories enjoyable and the are two cup of tea books! If you want to learn more about Andrew Clements and his books, check out his website by clicking on his name.
I hope your summer is going well and that you are finding time to get outside and move and really cool places to read.
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Watt
