First Person:The main character tells the story and uses the pronoun “I” - The reader only has information that the main character does -The reader can “hear” the thoughts of the main character -The reader can’t “hear” what the other characters are thinking
Second Person:The author “talks” to the reader - Pronoun used is “you”
Third Person Limited:where the narrator tells the story from the perspective of a single protagonist - referring to them by name or using a third person pronoun such as they/she/he. - We are limited as the author only allows us to see/know all through only one character
Third Person Omniscient: - The author tells the story in an all knowing manner and the reader “hears” every characters thoughts and feelings.
Third Person Objective:Narrator tells the story using he, she, it and they pronouns - Narrator can only narrate the external actions, no inner thoughts - Can be described as a “fly on the wall” - narrator tells the story as if observing the characters
